How Alltertale was derived?

Alltertale or the combination words ‘All’, ‘Alter’ and tale. It’s refined as how we alter the storytelling alltogether to fit into a specific niche whether it’s considered to be webtoon, webnovel and tutorials. Whichever could fit into the art of storytelling…

But what is webtoon all about and why it will be one of underrated niche that people often missed…and what is webtoon specifically??

‘Webtoon’ is a term coined from web and cartoon which specifically referred to the original webcomic published online except that; webtoon is not just a comic but more than that.

I’d spent a few years reading and researching about webtoon and found the gap…That is webtoon wasn’t just a webcomic…but as an expandable IPs. Studios and publisher chose the potential works (webnovel or idea) and use the medium webcomic to validate if the idea is valid especially for Korean competitive market.
Why webtoon? Because it’s probably the cheapest way to produce an IP wherethe storytelling could captured people’s heart. It could be further extend into expandable IPs such as anime, movie, games, music and merchandises.

So there begun my journey of understanding Webtoon market and the struggles as webtoon artist including myself. It could be a big thing but there are so many challenges.

The webtoon market value is estimated around $5B by 2023 and that’s alone for the webtoon not including those expandable IPs. This year, it’s about to reach 7B market value and exponential growth of more than 30B by 2032. While it may seems webtoon market is very saturated, there are more opportunity coming…

and that is

To have a better platform to accommodate indie artists and creators which often being mislook. Most of the webtoon platform offer a conventional structure where user could reload their coins to unlock each episodes. The contracted artists have no control over their works and the IP now belongs exclusively to the platform and if they were choose to quit, they can’t continue with the IPs name and leaving many artists in a dead hole to start all over again as an independent artist.

The conventional platform allowed the indie creators to earn through ads revenue sharing only if they met the minimum criteria of having thousands of monthly views.

And that’s not ideal for the beginner or newcomers especially with rise of A.I. that flooded the category sections. As a creator, you are urge to make money as soon as you started given that you know how to get the traffic directed to your works.

But how can we change the reality? and what could have been better?

Offers more than just a conventional platform…

A platform for networking, exploration and a marketplace of course!

Not everyone wants to become a webtoon artist or a webnovel creator, some just might ended up earning 2D/3D assets. Some just wanted to have crafted webtoon portfolio ;and some just want to network with studio and brands. and more importantly, none of these platforms have interactive feature when you choose to self-published your works.

So what could it be?

One Stop Platform for everything, where community can thrive and where A.I. works are being de-ranked. It should be able to cater all these minor needs into a fully functional platform.

So that’s how Alltertale might change the webtoon world. A world of endless creations and helping our artist and creator communities.
